Meet Claire Agius Ordway!

Claire Agius Ordway tells us all about her relationship with health and fitness, how she integrates eating clean in her busy lifestyle, and how Fortify Meals have helped her achieve her goals!

Tell us a little about yourself and your relationship with food & fitness.

I am a wife and a mother of three kids, a TV producer and presenter, and work on social media to promote fitness too. I like to learn and keep myself busy, but I have grown to love balance as well and not be stressed all the time like I used to. I started running after I had my third child but started my fitness journey 6 years ago, training more regularly and changing my diet slowly too. I started studying more about the subject and now my job has revolved around health and fitness. I try to motivate people to find ways mentally and physically to feel better.

How would you best define a healthy lifestyle for you?

I say an 80/20 diet in which I eat the cleanest foods most of the time but indulge in things I like too.

Did you set out any goals for this year?

My goals are always to beat myself, be it in discipline, in fitness goals, and always improve on my strength.

How did Fortify Meals help you achieve your goals?

Since they are clean it is easy to calculate my calorie intake since at this time of the year, I am usually more aware and careful of what I eat.

Do you have any Fortify Meals favourites? If so, which ones?

I absolutely love the Frittata Asparagus! It kicks off my mornings in the best way possible!

When it comes to eating well, what are your top 3 recommendations?

Definitely to take protein, fats and a bit of carbs too in main meals and the cleaner the food is, i.e. closer to its original form, the better.

How do you manage to integrate this healthy lifestyle into your busy life?

I am very easy to please when it comes to food. I eat the same things every day, my grocery list is really boring! Most of my meals/snacks are based mostly on vegetables and fruits so I always come up with a quick meal if I am hungry.

What motivates you to continue with this lifestyle?

Since I started, I could feel the benefits of eating cleaner. I love refined carbs, of course, but I do not feel good after I take them so automatically, I started cutting them out because of the after effect. I do like to indulge in a burger or pizza sometimes but not very often, since I train early in the morning, I sometimes feel heavy, and I do not like that feeling.

What are your future health and fitness goals?

To keep learning and evolving. I study and read a lot on the effects of food. I am not getting any younger, so I am trying to find ways how to heal quicker, have less inflammation in my body, and nourish it the best way possible. But this is a work in progress. I learn and try and see how it goes, so I think this journey will keep evolving!
